William Hill Bingo player wins £18,000

Games & Cash Staff - 21 Jan 2010

When Darryl Howe from Gloucestershire opened his William Hill account, little did he imagine that just 40 minutes later he would be £18,000 richer and a potential World Record holder.

While landing a full house and the jackpot on the 90 ball bingo game is pretty lucky for a first time player, it was the speed of Daryl’s win that left the players gasping in amazement. His 15 number full house came in just 23 calls; possibly the faster ever 90 ball bingo game, with the odds of this happening a staggering 93 billion to one.

William Hill Bingo spokeswoman Jennie Prest said, “None of our staff or customers with vast bingo playing experience have ever seen a game unfold as quickly as this one. We believe it is a record and are exploring the possibility of getting in the Guinness Book of World Records. We can’t find examples of a quicker 90 ball game, but are interested in hearing from anyone who knows more - at those odds, it must be very rare!”

Commenting on his win, Darryl said, “I guessed it was just beginners luck when I won, and the money is smashing to have for the New Year, but I was totally gobsmacked when William Hill told me how extraordinary the game was and the odds of that happening. I might get my name in the record books!”
