Players bring along their hopes, ambitions, dreams and family to the Dream Factory. Noel wondered what…Tina would bring to her game!
The care assistant from Harlow took the Walk of Wealth. Tina has been a care assistant for six years and said she loves her job and always gives it her all. Tina is currently working with dementia suffers and admitted it can be difficult and upsetting at times. Tina showed a family photograph of her Mum, Dad, fiancé Matthew and his Mum. She loves them all and also had her Mum in the audience. After a picture of her Son Lee was shown, Tina admitted she wanted the money to finally marry Matthew. Noel loved the thought of hearing wedding bells. Tina’s Mum brought a laughing Buda from Weymouth two weeks ago and Tina had it for good luck.
Tina had a system but was told to reduce it to make it easier for people to understand. Noel looked at Tina’s nails in amazement once he realised the numbers of the boxes had been painted on each finger nail. Round one started well with £50 and 1p, Shell received the kiss. £10,000 and £1 led to Tina’s lucky strut, which Noel thought looked like a turkey with piles! Courtney concluded the round with £250. The Banker felt Tina and her Mum could turn out to be a terrible twosome. The Banker wanted Tina to prevent any heartache and take £9,000 – No Deal. £35,000 was the first nibble of the power five. £500 and £5,000 were also found in round two. The Banker thought her system was working and ‘he had to hand it to her!’ The second offer was £11,500; Tina stared calmly and without any emotion said – No Deal. £20,000 was found in round three, then the realisation hit; “£11,500 is a lot of money to me” reflected Tina. Although she felt she deserved a little bit more and Noel loved her confidence. £1,000 and £15,000 completed an all-red round. Tina still had a power four but the Banker, who has watched 1213 games, knew the game doesn’t always respect those who need the money. The Banker thought Tina had a good poker face and like all good poker players, she would know when to fold £14,000 was offered. Lyn thought there was enough blues to hit to warrant another round, Tina knew she could do a lot with £14,000 but chose to – No Deal.
The atmosphere had suddenly turned serious but it looked like Tina’s bravery would be rewarded when £750 and 10p were unveiled in round four. Noel was struggling to remember when the Quarter of a Million last came to the table but it wouldn’t be today, £250,000 was wiped off the board. It was still a good eight box but the Banker felt relived that it wasn’t an all-blue round. He would have been offering £30,000 but as it stood the offer was £10,000. Tina has had her share of bad luck and would like to help her parents who also haven’t had it easy. Tina still believed in her system – No Deal. It was a bold decision; £50,000 was first out in round five, £3,000 and 50p kept the other big amounts in play. Noel admitted that it wasn’t perfect but it was still pretty good. Tina couldn’t contain her emotions and the Banker knew she was wearing her heart on her sleeve. The value of box five was now £17,500. Tina was still weeping when her Mum advised her to deal, Harold and Courtney agreed – Deal! Tina then managed the magical end with £100, £100,000 and £75,000 destroying her board. £5 and £10 were left on the board and the girl from Essex had given the Banker a spanking. The Banker conceded that he was beaten fair and square; the offer would have been £7.50p. Noel flipped open box five to see £5 and still had one last question to ask “marry Matthew, Deal or No Deal?” “Deal!” shouted an extremely happy Tina who is now able to fulfil her dreams.
