Noel was keen to pick the first player of 2010…Haz! Haz took the Walk of Wealth in very tight fitting trousers, Noel thought he looked liked a reject from the royal ballet.

Haz was born in Nottingham but moved to Blackpool when he was eight years old and recently moved to London on a whim. He signed a 12 month lease on a flat he had never seen and managed to get a job after just one day. Sadly Haz was threatened on the street which saw him ‘run away’ back north. Haz would like to move back to the capital when he returns to education. Noel held up a ‘bizarre’ photograph of Haz and his older sister dangling their younger sister upside down. The Banker rang up and wished everyone “Happy new year” and told Haz if he finds the 1p or any number starting with 10 in the first round, everyone would get a bottle of bubbly.

The Pilgrims wanted their bubbly so there were disappointed to £15,000, £3,000, 50p and £5,000. There was only one shot left and Nat opened box seven to see £500. Never before has such a great opening round produced so many groans. “Hard cheese losers” said the Banker with glee. The board was strong but the Banker thought Haz was a strong and determined young man. The opening offer was an apt £10,000, Haz thought it was a fantastic offer but said – No Deal. Haz didn’t want everyone to ‘jinx’ things so he taught Noel the correct way to touch wood on the Walk of Wealth. £1,000 was followed by the £250,000 “It wasn’t meant to be” sighed Haz. £250 concluded the second round. The Banker was impressed with the way Haz took the disappointment and went down to £7,500 – No Deal. “I hope it is a blue for you” said Beth, Haz hoped she hadn’t jinxed it but £100,000 was found. £100 followed and Haz confessed he would like to take his mum to Dubai. More unusually Haz admitted he would also like to meet the Little Mermaid and used to pretend to be her in the bath. £20,000 concluded the third round. Haz had made the Banker laugh so hard he fell over and hurt his ear. The offer was £5,000 – No Deal.

Round four started brightly with Debbie receiving the 1p kiss. Noel thought it was the most enthusiastic 1p kiss ever seen on Deal or No Deal. £750 and 10p concluded the great all-blue round. It was eight box and there was an even split of four blues and four reds on the board. The Banker had to make the highest offer yet £11,000. Haz was amazed by the offer and said ‘it’s not everyday a 20 year-old gets offered that type of money.” Glenda said the offer was higher than Haz said he would settle for. The Banker wanted a word and told Haz that if he deals everyone will get the bubbly. Lyn thought Haz needed courage if he was to win big. Jardi proposed to sacrifice the bubbly to get Haz a higher offer, the Banker agreed and offered £12,000. It seemed to make all the difference – Deal. £1, £75,000 and £50 were wiped from the board in round five. The Banker would have stuck at £12,000. Haz hoped for a spanking and found £5, £10,000 and £35,000 in the final round. £10 and £50,000 remained on the board and with an average of around £25,000 Noel didn’t think Haz would get to spank the Banker. The Banker made a resolution not to place the players under pressure but couldn’t keep it, he offered the Banker’s Gamble. Courtney believed the £50,000 had come to the table but only Haz could make the decision – No Deal. Noel flipped the lid on box three to see £50,000! Haz admitted he couldn’t gamble the £12,000 and apologised for not getting the bubbly. The Banker rang to say that everyone will get the bubbly and Haz was very happy.
